6)  Q Why Bridge?
A
Bridge is a structured program that prepares students for kindergarten. Our day consists of circle time, whole group teaching, center time and small group work. Our Main goals for the year are to write our name using upper and lowercase letters, identify all 26 letters of the alphabet and their sounds, and recognize and read 40 pre-primer Dolche sight words. Reaching these goals will help us smoothly transition into Kindergarten. Bridge is a half day program designed with help from the Kindergarten teachers to hit the major areas where they feel students need more support. Bridge is a structured room with clear expectations to help students prepare academically and socially for Kindergarten.
7)  Q What is Bridge Plus?
A
Bridge is for students who are 5 by December 1st but who are not quite ready for a full day of Kindergarten. They are given the same structure and program as the Bridge class but Bridge Plus is a state funded program.
